“A Million Dollar View!” ★★★★★
We visited at the end of August 2016. I was not expecting the view this cozy little room has to offer. Words can’t describe it and pictures don’t do it justice! The room has 180 degrees sweeping views of Paris with Eiffel tower in the center. The bathroom has a window looking over Basilique du Sacré-Cœur.
Claire is your perfect host, she is very knowledgeable, and a very optimistic person. She knows Paris, and she will let you know the monuments to go visit, where to go for good eats. Just let her know what you have in mind, and she will guide you in the right direction.
The breakfast is delicious, and changes every day. Claire will bring it to the room every morning. You have coffee or tea, pastries, baguette and cheese, butter. Enjoy breakfast while looking over Paris in the morning sun, or rain…it is equally lovely.
The room is atop of a building build around 1875. The building is on Butte Montmartre, the highest point in the city. Therefore there are stairs everywhere, please be prepared to climb stairs when coming back from the city. There is a funicular you can use, and is located in Place Saint-Pierre. There are also a few flights of stairs you need to climb to get to the room, but think of it as the price you pay for the magnificent views. The room is quiet, and secluded, and feels very private.
The neighborhood is very safe, and stays safe even late at night. There are little restaurants and cafes everywhere, or you can hop on the metro and go in the city. The closest station is Abbesses, and is a very convenient way to get to different destinations in Paris.
We will be back for sure. Merci Claire!
